Bill Gothard, Ph.D.
Chancellor
Dr. Bill Gothard has been the Chancellor of the Verity Institute since its inception in 2001. Through the Basic and Advanced Seminars and other IBLP ministries, Dr. Gothard has influenced millions around the world for Christ. Dr. Gothard provides vital leadership support and regular personal involvement with the students and staff at Verity.
Kevin McCray, D.Min.
Executive Director
Dr. Kevin McCray has served at Verity since 2004. Prior to assuming the responsibility of Executive Director, Dr. McCray served three years as Director of Biblical Studies at Verity. Dr. McCray’s background includes politics, education, business, and ministry. He holds two masters degrees from theological seminaries and received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Vanderbilt University Divinity School. His doctoral project was on “The Implications of Pauline Anthropology for the Ministry of Pastoral Counseling.”
Dr. McCray and his wife Jo have eight children—Virginia, Jason, Mitchell, Ellianna, Melissa, James, Emily, and Elizabeth—and have been involved in ATI since 1986. The McCrays served in Romania with IBLP from 2001–2004. Dr. McCray is enthusiastic about the future of Verity: “As Verity begins its tenth year, we pray the blessings and power of God on this program will continue and increase.”

Mr. Greg Fast
Board Member
Mr. Fast, president and founder of GSF Media, a media consulting firm that specializes in working with non-profits, brings a much-welcomed marketing perspective to the Verity Board. Mr. Fast’s son, Rhett, just graduated from Verity, and he is very grateful for what the program did in Rhett’s life. Mr. Fast’s focus is to help Verity to perfect its message so that people who need this program can learn about it and benefit from it.
Dr. Bill Greene
Vice Chairman; Guest Instructor
Dr. Greene, founder and president of Strategic Integrated Campaign Management, Inc., has been an adjunct instructor at Verity for 8 years. He brings a vast array of knowledge and experience in the field of political science and government. Dr. Greene and his wife Nancy have more fun teaching at Verity than anywhere else: “Verity is deep in our hearts. We love the program, students, staff, and what God is doing there.” Bill sees Verity as a tool God is using to help this generation of Christian young people complete college with Christ as their goal. Dr. Greene also brings experience in marketing and development.
Dr. Larry Guthrie
Chairman; Guest Lecturer
Dr. Guthrie is a graduate of the University of Illinois. After seven years as a science teacher in the public schools, he took a position at Indiana University Northwest as a professor of Education, where he twice received the Teacher of the Year Award. Currently, Dr. Guthrie is the director of Educational Ministries at Harvest Home Farms. Dr. Guthrie’s frequent visits to Verity are a highlight for the students. His object lessons and stories impart memorable and life-changing lessons.
Mr. Mark Knudsen
Secretary/Treasurer
Mark Knudsen, a tenured pilot with Delta Airlines, offers Verity a rich source of counsel and advice. As Mark and Michelle Knudsen’s children reached school age they made the decision to raise their kids to love the Lord. After having a daughter and son graduate from the program they saw Verity’s potential in two arenas: first, Verity furthers the kingdom of God; second, it meets an incredible need to protect Christian students from the secular humanism so prevalent in today’s universities. Mark is 100% behind this program because he really believes that it transforms lives.
Rev. Mr. David McKay
Board Member
David McKay has been an effective and faithful pastor at Grace Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis for the last 27 years. Pastor McKay has a burden for teaching college students to love God and His Word with their whole heart and thus be protected from an unbiblical worldview.

Alyssa Anders
Curriculum Development Assistant
Graduating Suma Cum Laude from the Verity Class of 2010, Alyssa is a perfect fit for our Curriculum Development Department. ”I have a lot to learn from this position, but I also feel God has given me a passion for teaching, and academic development.”
Gabriel Castelino, Ph.D.
Academic Affairs Coordinator; Program Advisor for CIT
Verity is honored to have Dr. Gabriel Castelino lead our academic staff. Dr. Castelino studied and gained his doctorate from Oakland University. He was an Associate Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Kettering University in Michigan for fifteen years. Dr. Castelino began working with the Verity program from its beginning in Flint, Michigan, helping many students with Math and Business subjects. He is here with his wife Jeanette, son Zyrek, and daughter Nirel.
Valen Copu
Assistant Program Advisor for English & Social Sciences
After graduating with the Class of 2010 with a degree in Political Science, Valen Copu will be joining the academic staff. Ever the book lover, Valen can often be found reading up on Dickens or Chesterton while enjoying a good cup of tea.
Joshua Ingersoll
Program Advisor for Music
Joshua comes from a musical family and has been playing the piano since he was 9 years old. He began working with Verity early in 2007 by tuning and maintaining their pianos. While teaching music history he was asked to join the Music Department full-time as Program Advisor. While maintaining a private teaching studio for the last five years, he has received certification in the first 8 grades of The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, an internationally recognized system of music exams. He is also currently pursuing a Bachelors of Arts degree in Music.
Kathleen Knudsen
Program Advisor for Business & Communications
Kathleen Knudsen graduated in 2006 with her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a focus on general management / marketing and has returned as the Program Advisor for both the Business and Communication departments. She has seen the value of a college degree in opening unique doors of ministry as well as providing a solid background of training for the business world. In addition to teaching various classes for Verity Institute over the last four years, Kathleen has had work experience in business, marketing, and politics. As the oldest of six children, she enjoys reading, photography, and spending time with people.
Charity Larson
Librarian and Curriculum Development Coordinator
A native of Idaho, Charity was born to teach. Charity Larson completed her degree in English from Verity in 2007 and teaches many of the general education classes. Charity discovered her love for teaching while interning at a school near her home. Ever since then it has been her hope to continue teaching at Verity Institute. “Verity trains their students to be reformers and disciples in their spheres of influence, and it has imparted this desire to me. In turn I want to use my teaching here at Verity to help disciple students to be salt and light in their world.”
Bethany Rowe
Testing Administrator
Hailing from Pennsylvania, Bethany is excited to be joining the Verity staff as the Testing Administrator. She graduated from Verity Institute with the Class of 2009 and has been serving on our Kitchen staff for the past six months.
Evangeline Rupp
Librarian
Evangeline Rupp has been a vital asset to the Verity staff team—with her quick smile and her skill in organization the Verity Library is continuing to improve in it’s service to campus and distance students alike.
Elizabeth Ubert
Program Advisor for English & Social Science
Elizabeth Ubert graduated from Verity in 2005 with a degree in Liberal Studies. She has been a Program Advisor ever since, and she currently oversees the English, Science, and Social Science departments. She enjoys working with students, teaching some classes, and helping with program development. “Verity has developed a wonderful balance between promoting academic excellence and encouraging spiritual growth, and the Christian fellowship is such that students and staff become like family. I am honored to be a part of this work.”
Julianna Vogel
Assistant Program Advisor for Business
Julianna Vogel graduated with a Business Administration degree in 2009 and will be putting her skills and interests to good use furthering the materials for the business department.
Katie Winkler
Program Advisor for the Sciences
This coming year Katie will be serving as a Program Advisor for the Verity Science department. “I am excited to come on staff, having graduated with a degree in Biology in 2009, I feel able to help the current and incoming students with the challenges the Science degree present. It is not only being a program advisor, I want to be able to pass on a love and excited for the subject they will be studying.”

Hospitality Coordinator
Verity Institute is excited to announce our new Events department. Molly Dietrich will be lending her capable hands to playing the hostess for the many conferences and programs held on the Verity Campus during the school year as well as the breaks.
Kristina Kroon
Assistant Cook
Kristina Kroon graduated from Verity in 2006 with a degree in English. Kristina says, “Verity is about learning to see all of life through the lens of God’s Word, making lifelong friendships, and preparing Christian young adults to be the salt and light that God intended us to be in the world.” For the past three years, Kristina served faithfully in the Student Affairs department as the Women’s Coordinator. Now that she is pursuing her Master’s of Arts in Teaching Elementary Education, she is delighted to be assisting Jordan in the kitchen.
Jordan Rodriguez
Head Chef
“I see food service as a way to minister to college students. They have a lot to tackle during their two years here, I want the meals to be an encouragement, to help them feel at home” says Jordan Rodriguez Verity Institute’s Head Chef. Jordan graduated this past year with his degree in Nutritional Science and has a passion for making the meals at Verity nutritious and delicious. He will also be assisting Mr. Harold Grose with the School of Culinary Arts beginning this fall on the Verity campus. His rhema is clear, “When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face LORD will I seek” (Psalm 28:7).

Adam Anders
Financial Coordinator
Adam Anders joins the ranks this year as the Finance and Purchasing Coordinator after successfully completing his studies at Verity in 2009 with a degree in Criminal Justice. Adam becomes the third Anders sibling to graduate through Verity, with more likely to come. Excited about the opportunities and challenges ahead, Adam is glad to serve here in Finances. When out of the office, Adam enjoys fixing broken appliances, photo editing, playing volleyball and soccer, blogging, giving away smiles, eating good food, and fellowshipping with friends.
Chéri Anderson
Assistant to the Executive Director
Chéri Anderson, a graduate of the Communications class of 2007, brings a sunny Florida disposition to her work each day. “At Verity I saw people being given the tools to add to their faith, virtue; and to virtue, knowledge. I wanted to be a part of that ministry and am honored to be able to work with such a great team to make it easier for students to achieve academic excellence as well as spiritual growth.”
Joshua Austhof
Audio / Video Coordinator & IT Assistant
Joshua Austhof comes to Verity ready to put his technical skills to work. He will be helping out in the technology department managing the A/V needs and assisting with other technology projects.
Ryan Clarke
Assistant Director of Development and Alumni Relations
After serving for three years in our academic department, Ryan Clarke will be heading up a new department within Verity this year. His official title is Assistant Director of Development and Alumni Relations. This role will include special events, fund raising, community service opportunities, and different marketing ventures along with continuing to help out in the academic arena. His verse for the year is 1 Corinthians 16:14.
Vanessa Ewing
Admissions Coordinator
A Nutritional Science major in the 2010 class, it was a step of faith for Vanessa to step into the role of the Verity Admissions department. She is a native of Fremont, California and is excited about helping prospective students understand our mission, how the program works, and if it is right for them.
Peter Kroon
Technology Coordinator
Peter Kroon, a graduate of the 2006 Verity class, is the Technology Coordinator for Verity Institute. He is responsible for overseeing the computers, the network, and the graphic design of materials at Verity.
Ellianna McCray
Registrar
As the current Registrar of Verity Institute, Ellianna McCray is excited to be able to serve in several different capacities. She will be assisting our academic staff in organizing our student’s academic progress, as well as providing transcripts and records.
Brian Thomas
Business Manager
Mr. Brian Thomas brings much experience to the Verity staff team. In past years, he has managed restaurants, greenhouses, and other businesses. He and his wife currently home-school their three daughters, and he is actively involved on the board of the Indiana Home Educators Association.

Cameron Houser
Men’s Coordinator
In 2004 Cameron joined Verity staff as the Business Department Program Advisor, handled the Finance department in 2007, and now is overseeing Student Affairs. Before coming to Verity he spent over a year at EQUIP, and there found a heart for ministering to young men. Cameron enjoys stimulating students toward spiritual growth using a variety of methods.
Rebekah Johnson
Women’s Coordinator
After serving as the Verity Registrar for the past three years, Rebekah Johnson has been called to transition into the role of the women’s coordinator at Verity Institute. She enjoys sports, photography and mountain climbing, but most of all she has a heart for discipling young women to know God. Her Rhema for this coming year is, “Oh Lord, you are my God: I will exalt you, I will give thanks to your name: for you have worked wonders, plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness” (Isaiah 25:1).
Mrs. Jo McCray
Mrs. Jo McCray is a valuable asset to the Verity team not just as the wife to the director but because of her heart for ministering to the students—especially the young ladies. “Having had five of my own children in Verity, I know the pressures and benefits of the program. God is so gracious to help each one of us grow in the likeness of Christ as we focus on Him in childlike faith and love.”
Jordan Ramsey
Assistant Men’s Coordinator
“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” (Micah 6:8). As a student Jordan Ramsey embraced the opportunity to serve as well as encourage his fellow classmates. In his new role as the Assistant Men’s Coordinator, Jordan is looking forward to strengthening the bond between the students and the student coordinators as well as the encourage camaraderie in each class.
Lauren Ramsey
Assistant Women’s Coordinator
Lauren is looking forward with anticipation to learning more about discipleship and counseling as she assists Rebekah Johnson in the women’s department. Lauren graduated with a degree in Social Science & History with an emphasis in Biblical Counseling. She would like to pursue counseling college-age girls as a long-term ministry, and views this opportunity as the first step towards that dream.
