“Bible Minor: A Major Blessing”
When I first came to Verity, I knew God wanted me to do the Bible Minor (also known as the Bible Certificate). I wanted to do it because I knew it would help me grow in Him, but I was scared to make the final commitment to all the time that it would require. However, I have never regretted my decision to do the Bible Minor. In fact, the Bible Minor is one of my favorite aspects of Verity.
“Music and More”
Every fall the Verity music students spend about seven weeks in Chicago persevering through three music courses with instructor Dr. Kincaid. This past fall, the four other '07 music students and I made many memories during our long class hours, praying, and sightseeing. . . .
“Run to Win”
Racing, one of the oldest sports known to mankind, remains popular, especially at Verity this fall. Partially inspired by the PT program implemented into the guys' weekly schedule, the racing started in August when approximately twenty Verity students and staff headed back up to Flint, Michigan for the 10-mile CRIM (also known as the Coolest Race In Michigan).
“Whistle While You Work”
This past week, twelve other members of the Verity staff and I drove to Flint, Michigan to serve at an annual banquet hosted by the Riverfront Character Inn, (the former home of Verity). While I was reluctant to abandon my responsibilities in the office for a few days, I knew all of us were in for a great time doing whatever needed to be done at the RCI for the banquet. Sure enough, we had a productive, fun-filled, and memory-making trip. . .
“Balance Is Key”
As I prepare for the Western Civilization 1 CLEP, I am studying the history of the Near East and Europe from 5000 B.C. to 1648 A.D. and am learning about ideals and influences that have shaped Western culture. The Greek philosophies and politics, in particular, have greatly impacted Western society. I am especially intrigued by three Greek philosophies that still exist in some form today. . .
