Missions Trip to Mexico 2009
In 2009, twenty Verity students went to Mexico to share the love of God.
The team first went to Guadalajara. They got to visit IBLP’s Mexico Training Center. Every day was either spent going to schools, churches, or orphanages. At each spot, the team sang songs, did skits, brought gifts for children, made balloon animals as well, and preached the Gospel everywhere they went.
Aside from schools, orhpanages, and churches, the team went to two prisons. One of the prisons was a maximum security juvenile prison. At the juvenile prison the team got to share the Gospel with the inmates and there was good response to the message. The class also got to visit an actual Aztec tribe and preach the Gospel with the natives. At first the men of the tribe did not want to hear the message, but after a while some of the men did come and listen and responded to the message.
The team grew closer as a result of the trip. There was clear evidence of God working in the lives of the team as well as the people. Seeing the poverty in Mexico taught the team to count their blessings every day.
“The 2009 Mexico Missions Trip was a life changing experience as I saw the living God display His love and His truth for all people.” – Daniel Knudsen
